Welcome to Troop 317 Naperville!

Troop 317, formed in 1999, holds its meetings in Naperville, Illinois and includes Boy Scouts from Naperville, Bolingbrook and Plainfield. We are sponsored by the Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville, but are a non-denominational Troop with boys and parents of many faiths active.

We are a boy-led Troop and use the Patrol method to run our events and meetings. Our patrols consist of boys around the same age who elect their own patrol leader, who reports to the Senior Patrol Leader, who is elected by his Scout peers yearly.

Troop 317 meets every Monday night at 7PM at Kendall Elementary School in Naperville during the school year, except for Indian Prairie District 204 holidays or school closure days. We have one outdoor outing each month during the school year and weekly summer camp at Gerber Scout Camp in July.

Some of our past events include:

  • STEP Walk Service Project
  • Indian Prairie Camporee
  • Kayaking on Kankakee River
  • Bolingbrook Pathways to Eagle
  • Hiking at Warren Dunes
  • Caving in Iowa
  • Skiing and snowboarding in Wisconsin
  • "Turkey" Campout at the Ranch in Rochelle

Through our partnership with Venture Crew 317, Scouts over the age of 13 also participate in High Adventure activities, which in the past have included rock climbing and kayaking in Wisconsin, canoeing at Apostle Islands and hiking in Glacier National Park.
